Dear Pamela, THANK YOU for your help in getting me set up with a storage unit! Your kindness organization, and assistance with paperwork and nuts and bolts made the move easy and (gasp!) even pleasant. I hope you have a terrific year, and I look forward to coming back after Berlin.

From start to finish, we did not have a problem. It was right around the corner from where we live in New Britain, so that was easy. They offer climate controlled, but we opted for a non-climate controlled unit. The nice thing about Planet Self Storage versus the competition is that they had the right sized unit for us. Many places had units that were larger than we wanted. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely use them again. We never had any issues. Best of all, they only require a 10 day notice when moving out of your unit. We just bought a place and completely forgot to let them know before we started to move so we were able to give 10 days notice and not have to pay for another whole month.

John was a very helpful, friendly and caring young man. I'm happy i went with this facility. He deserves a raise.

I rented a 5X10 unit here and the staff there was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I was moving at night and although the facilities close at 5:45pm they were able to arrange for someone to stay late so that I could move in, which was great. Lastly, the facilities are well-kept and if a unit is on the second floor, there is a lift you can use to get furniture/etc up there (some storage units I was looking into had second-level units that were ladder-access only which makes absolutely no sense). Overall i would highly recommend this place to anyone needing storage!

Moving is a drag, and not-unpacking things in the way that storing stuff allows is unsustainable, but in the Boston area I wouldn't go anywhere else. Every space is roll-it-in ground level (no elevator = great!) and climate controlled, the price is reasonable, and the whole facility is clean and secure. The real aspect of this Planet that sets it apart is the folks who run it. They are professional, incredibly nice, and no nonsense all at the same time. They inspire confidence. They ease transition. They understand compassion in the face of daunting amounts of un-fun work. Did I already say I won't go anywhere else?

I have rented at Planet in Hyde Park a few times over the years & I have sent some of my friends who needed storage as well. When I found myself having to move again in November I didn't even think about going anywhere else. The staff is always very helpful & pleasant & they got me into the right space very quickly. I was also very happy when they remembered me even though the last time I rented was in 2006. Not having to use stairs or an elevator made my movers very happy & I was in & out pretty quickly. The facility is nice & clean & the guy who cleans the building was working the day I moved in & gave my unit an extra sweep right before I moved into it, even though it was already clean. Now they also offer online payments which will be great since I'm moving to Florida, but I'll probably sign up for their automatic payment service they offer to make it easier for me. If you need a storage unit & live anywhere near Hyde Park, I would recommend you call Planet on Hyde Park Ave. first to save the headaches that can come with moving.
